Whether served on the side or as a burger topping, the onion rings’ crispy crunch packs the punch to any meal. Onion rings deliciousness has been dated back over 100 years to it’s invention in the 1920’s. According to The National Day Calendar, The Pig Stand restaurant chain, established in Oak Cliff, Texas in the early 1920s, is one of the claimants to the onion rings invention. Years later, A deep-fried onion rings recipe appeared in a 1933 Crisco advertisement in The New York Times Magazine.

Since its existence, the onion has stood the test of time at the dinner table. The onion ring has proved use of it’s versatility to be served,  whether it be as an appetizer, a topping on an entree, or even a snack!
