Lil Troy’s Mom Suffered Stroke After He Had Heart Attack

Over the weekend, Lil Troy faced two terrifying health scares.

The 57 year old rapper was recovering in the hospital from a massive heart attack when he then got the news that his mother suffered from a stroke in the same weekend.

The rapper was on the phone with his mother when she collapsed from the stroke.

With the series of events that happened between him and his mother, he realized how important it is for Black families to take their health concerns seriously. Right before Troy had a heart attack, his doctor gave him the news that he has high blood pressure and bad dietary habits. He also said he was experiencing shortness of breath and swollen feet.

Troy told Fox 26 News: “I ate all this fried chicken, up all night drinking — that’s what I did. I was a rapper, so I was up all night drinking and everything else, not taking care of my body. I thought I was Superman”

After the doctors examined Lil Troy, they found a 97 percent blockage in one of his arteries and performed surgery to insert a stent. When he was on the phone with his mother about the news, his mother suffered a stroke.

“I had to call the ambulance and everything. They brought her to the same hospital I was at and on the same floor.”

With almost losing the life of both him and his mother, Troy is reaching out to the public advocating for heath awareness. He is particularly speaking to Black men when advocating due to the lack of awareness within the Black community.
