“I never thought success would come easy “ is a quote from Abdul “The King of Temple University” known nationwide as DJ Damage. This young man from the streets of Philadelphia is taking the airwaves by storm. Currently he is the “youngest on-air mixer in the nation.”
Damage was raised on the rough streets of North Philadelphia however he didn’t let that stop him. Growing up, his inspirations were Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith whom already made names for themselves in the entertainment industry. Although Damage was faced with obstacles, he managed to pull through.
His mother gave him his first set of turntables at age 12, and once he learned how to work them he never let them go! Now this young man is known as “the hottest DJ in the hood.” From throwing basement parties to being a DJ on Kendra G’s night show on 100.3 The Beat is amazing. Not only is Damage a phenomenal DJ, he also holds a 3.0 GPA as a Broadcasting Telecommunications and Mass Media major. He also is the CEO of “Stay Wit It Ent!”
DJ Damage for sure is an inspiration to other young DJs coast to coast. He has definitely proven that no matter what you face in life you can come out on top! Being the only 20 year-old DJ on-air everyday is absolutely phenomenal. Although he thought that success wouldn’t come easy, it did. DJ Damage will continue to be successful and inspire youth to follow their dreams and prove that anything is possible. He once looked up to someone that was a household name and now his is too!
