Sports Illustrated put out an issue this week entitled, “A Nation Divided Sports United.” The cover features a lot of sports figures who took a stand after President Donald Trump bashed the NFL, it’s players, and took back the Golden State Warriors invitation to attend the White House.

Some of the people on the cover, NBA stars Stephen Curry & LeBron James, WNBA star Candace Parker, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell among others. Noticeably missing was the man than start this whole thing, Colin Kaepernick.

One of the people gracing the cover, Curry, didn’t take well to Kaep being left of the cover. “That was terrible…capitalizing on the hoopla and the media and all the nonsense,” Curry said about the situation.

SI’s executive director Stephen Canella responded to the backlash by saying, “What we were trying to capture with this cover was the way new voices emerged this weekend, and the way this debate, this issue, this protest movement has sort of evolved beyond Colin Kaepernick.”

Do you agree with Sports Illustraded leaving Kaep off, or does he deserve to be on the cover?
