Ed Lover was privy to a discussion on the radio this morning about music. Two people were debating about the validity of artists like Kanye West and Jay-Z, compared to that of artists like Elvis Presley. As Ed puts it, it’s certainly “one hell of a conversation.”

This prompts Ed to ask whether an artist who samples older music deserves as much credit for being creative as an artist who is building a song from scratch. Monie Love very passionately explains why she believes the answer is a flat out no, while Big City says he disagrees.
