Mayan-Calendar

According to the ancient Mayan calendar, the world is set to end – December 21, 2012. The Examiner explains, “Dec. 21, marks the conclusion of the 5,125 year ‘Long Count’ Mayan calendar”. For years, scientists and historians have conducted researched trying to decipher the truth within the Mayan calendar.   While some researchers believe the calendar accurately predicts the end of the world, others are urging people NOT to believe the hype.

A number of “theories” have surfaced as to how the world will end. Some believe earth and Nibiru, mythical planet X, will collide on Dec. 21. Others theorize the Earth will crash with a comet, causing a solar storm.

Unsure of what to believe, individuals around the world, are taking precautions preparing for doomsday. U.S. manufacturer of hi-tech underground survival shelters, Ron Hubbard, reveals he “has seen his business explode” since the speculation of doomsday. Though Hubbard has seen a sudden increase in sales, some have been preparing for years, purchasing weapons and supplies in case of an unfortunate event occurs.
