According to officials when the shooting started Jamie Rohrs not only didn’t try to protect his girlfriend or her children, but he actually rushed for the exit and got into his car, leaving them behind. Sources say Rohrs laid on the floor and held his girlfriend’s infant, but then got up and rushed out of the theater leaving the baby on the floor and his girlfriend and her other child to fend for themselves. He then received a call from an estranged number and it was his girlfriend calling from the hospital. When he got to the hospital, he proposed to his girlfriend and she said YES!
