Former Eagles Safety and all star Brian Dawkins retires after 16 years in the NFL. He was drafted in 1996 by the Eagles from Clemson University.
Dawkins made his first of 9 Pro Bowls in 1999, earning a reputation as a hard-hitting ball-hawk. His emergence as one of the premier safeties in the NFL earned him the role of Eagles’ defensive captain, and a mainstay on the Eagles.
