Dave Chappelle’s Chappelle Show was, in a word, amazing. One of his best skits featured a make believe Tupac  Shakur song he created. The premise of the skit was that Tupac wasn’t dead because his music was still relevant to the times. As a joke, Dave hilariously mimicked that relevancy by creating a song which detailed events that were happening in a club in real time. The skit was worth mentioning because MTV posted a Tupac interview with him discussing the 2016 Republican front-runner, Donald Trump.

“You wanna be successful? You wanna be like Trump? Gimmie gimmie gimmie,” he said. He went on to explain how systematically oppressed people in the US need help.”

Oddly enough, there’s another comment he mentioned that sounds like it could’ve been directed at Bernie Sanders. Particularly, Bernie’s focus on income inequality.

“Nobody should be hitting the lotto for $36 million when we’ve got people dying in the streets,” Tupac said. “That’s not idealistic, that’s just real.” He went on to explain that he wasn’t hating on rich people, just saying they should help others more. “If they earned it I think that’s good and I think they deserve it, but even if you earned it, you still owe. Look at me, I don’t have that mega money, but I feel guilty walking by somebody… If I know I have $3,000 in my pocket, it’s wrong to give that person a quarter. It’s wrong.”

You can check out the rest of the 4-minute interview above. It’s definitely cool to watch a very passionate ‘Pac and when you consider how little things have changed over the last twenty-plus years, the video just hits that much harder.
