The Game dropped his debut album The Documentary through Aftermath Entertainment, G-Unit, and Interscope.
After recovering from a shooting in 01, The Game was discovered by Dr. Dre who signed him to Aftermath. This is Game’s only album with the label, and we are all aware of why, (50 Cent feud).
The album debuted at number 1 and sold well over 500,000 albums first week. A sequel to the Documentary was just released in October.
The Documentary garnered hit singles like “Westside Story“, “How We Do“, “Hate It or Love It“, “Dreams“, and “Put You on the Game“.
Game “I grew up in a boys home and I was taken away from my parents when I was like 8 years old… Here I am, 24. When my album drops I will be 25 so that’s 17 years I have been going through my struggle by myself. There are 17 tracks on my album and every track sheds light on a different situation I went through the last 17 years.”
