Sources close to Maya Angelou confirm the American Author, Poet, and Civil Rights Activist, has died at the age of 86.
Angelou recently cancelled a string of appearances to recover from an “unexpected ailment” that sent her to the hospital. Reports say she died with family by her side.
A police car, an ambulance and a hearse were seen outside Angelou’s home around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Winston-Salem police said they are at the home to investigate a death. – WIXX12
