We’ve all heard of food stamps! Times get hard & some people have to depend on the system to feed them. Well now if you have a pet & can’t afford to feed that pet, you can get ‘Pet Food Stamps.” “A privately funded nonprofit called Pet Food Stamps was established to assist those who can’t afford their pet.” People already on government assistance can apply for free pet food.

Marc Okon, founder of “Pet Food Stamps” basically said he founded the nonprofit organization because a friend of his fell on hard times & couldn’t afford to feed her cat. There were times when she would feed her cat before feeding herself. I mean pets are like a children? Some would say if you can’t afford to have child then don’t…what about pets? Perhaps it’s good program since there are so many people who surrender his/her pet to a shelter & it’s NOT a government funded program.
