Should Mindless Behavior Have Apologized For Lauryn Hill Joke At BET Awards?

During Sundays BET Awards, Mindless Behavior’s Ray-Ray “read” a joke from the teleprompter. I wrote “read” because the only people who freestyle at award shows are comedians. Mike Epps was doing a Jodeci impression. of course he sounded crazy. Ray Ray told him that his singing was bad.  ‘You sing bad…like Lauryn Hill’s tax accountant BAD‘.  Social media went into a frenzy about how the joke was in poor taste. They presented an award to Beyonce who immediately got on stage and paid homage to Lauryn Hill.

On Monday, Ray-Ray called in to 106 & Park to apologize for the remark. He said:-

 I want to apologize about the Lauryn Hill joke… I didn’t mean no harm by it. I hope everyone can forgive me. It was like a big thing on Twitter and everything, so I truly apologize. I respect Lauryn Hill and all of them like that.
