Jay-Z is making history once again with his Made In America festivalwhich will take place in Philadelphia, September 1st and 2nd on the Ben Franklin Parkway. With phase 1 of the Made In America Festival lineup announced, many wonder why Philadelphia was the annual city for such a mega event. We’re not 100% sure Jay-Z’s mindset behind the Made In America festival, but we’re sure glad he picked Philly. But how much will the Made In America festival help Philly? 1. Money

The city of Philadelphia looks to make buku dollars from the Made In America festival. People from all over the world will be flying into Philadelphia International Airport, they will be shopping on our stores, and spending their money in our city. This means huge revenue gains for Philly, and also jobs. Not to mention the festival won’t be free.

2. Cultural Unity

Jay-Z has put together an amazing lineup thus far spaning serval different genres of music. With acts like Pearl Jam performing next to the likes of MMG and  Santigold gives the average hip hop fan a taste of something different. Props to Jay-Z for mixing genere because it will surely being a eclectic mix of music fans to Philadelphia.

3. Toursim

Tourism numbers have really plagued the city of Philadelphia for years, but Jay-Z plans to change that. The Made In America Festival will surely bring people from all over the world to the city. Tourist attractions like LOVE Park and the Liberty Bell will get a boost from the festival as well as famous cheesesteak venues like Pat’s & Genos.

4. Musical History

The Jay-Z Made In America festival is the first of its kind. It’s has a Woodstock feel but nothing of this great magnitude has been put together for hip hop and other genres for that matter. Philadelphia will go down in history as the first city to bring the Made In America festival to life. 30 years from now Philly will still have that achievement to look back on.
