K2 or Spice has become the popular choice of drug among criminals monitored by parole and probation departments. The ingredients in K2 mimics the effect of THC, but it doesn’t actually contain THC, therefore criminals on parole don’t worry about failing drug tests. It’s also the second most used drug by high-school seniors, second only to marijuana. Because of it’s easy accessibility, students can get their hands on K2 or spice just as easy as a pack of cigarettes.

So what are the heath effects of K2? Some who have used K2 have reported psychotic effects like extreme anxiety, paranoia, and hallucinations. Some people have even been taken to Poison Control Centers with symptoms that include rapid heart rate, vomiting, agitation, confusion, and hallucinations. Spice can also raise blood pressure and cause reduced blood supply to the heart.

Even though the drug seems to have more health issues than marijuana, it seems as the K2 Drug Epidemic is to here stay.
