Two of hip-hops’ biggest stars are being sued by musician Syl Johnson for sampling his song “Different Strokes”. The sample was featured on the Watch the Throne album on the track “Joy”. Johnson claimed that the rappers did not ask permission to use the sample nor did he give permission. Johnson also claimed he received no credit or payment. A complaint was filed on Friday in Illinois which also sues UMG and Def Jam.
