Fantasia Barrino boycotted the Grammy‘s this year because she wasn’t asked to participate in the tribute to Aretha Franklin.  The Queen of Soul has responded to Fantasia’s boycott.

Jermaine Dupri served as President of the Atlanta chapter of the Grammy board in the early 2000s so he knows a little bit about how the Grammy’s work.  After reading Steve Stoute’s letter to the NARAS, Dupri made a video response.

Advertising executive, and former music biz exec “Commissioner” Steve Stoute took out a full-page ad in the New York Times calling the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) and their annual Grammy Awards ceremony as out of touch with popular culture.

Because she felt slighted over not being asked to take part in the Aretha Franklin tribute, Fantasia boycotted the Grammy Awards last weekend.
