Bird Gang for Life: Meet Ms. Eloise Brown, 102, Eagles Oldest Fan

There are a handful of Eagles fans that can say they’ve been ‘Bird gang’ since day one. Ms. Eloise Brown is one of the fans.

Ms. Brown, originally from North Philly, is 102 years-old and has been down with the Birds since Day one. Ms. Brown, even recalls when the Eagles came to the city of brotherly love and sisterly affection.

“I remember when they started,” Brown said from her senior home in South Philadelphia.

The Eagles have been a Philadelphia institution since their beginning in 1933. The franchise was established in 1933 as a replacement for the bankrupt Frankford Yellow Jackets

State Sen. Anthony Williams, a longtime family friend, was able to arrange for Ms. Brown to attend the Eagles-Cowboys game in December. Williams knows how much Ms. Brown loves her Eagles and seen it fit to provide her tickets to one of the greatest rivalries in sports play out in real-time.

“She’s a legitimate, card-holding, dyed-in-the-wool, bleed green, official Eagles fan,” said Williams.

Ms. Brown showed up sporting A.J. Brown (no relation) earrings and #11 cozy hoodie. She was given VIP treatment and was invited onto the field before the game, even got to meet the superstars of the team including C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Brandon Graham, Brett Toth, Jordan Mialata and Head Coach Nick Sirianni.

“A little old lady like me? 102? And being able to go on the field? It’s amazing,” said Ms. Brown

Ms. Brown definitely enjoyed her time as the Eagles walked away victorious.

In anticipation for a close game, Ms. Brown says she has a sure-fire strategy for watching tight games.

“If it gets too close, then I go close my eyes,” said Brown, who admits catching a nap or two during “boring” games.

Let’s hope Ms. Brown doesn’t have to close her eyes at all for the rest of this magical season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
