SNAP EBT card outage reported in Philly area

People who are on SNAP benefits or food stamps are reporting an outage that is preventing them from using their benefits.

A Wawa in Bala Cynwyd had a sign on the door that read “no EBT” Thursday morning. Despite the government assistance program mishap, the manager said all of their other debit and credit card systems are working normally.
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services has yet to release an official statement on the reported outage.
