Jay Electronica (L) and Jay-Z perform during TIDAL X: Jay-Z B-sides in NYC on May 16, 2015

It’s about damn time.

After Frank Ocean’s long-delayed Boys Don’t Cry album allegedly received a release date, Jay Electronica decided to stir up some speculation about his own long-delayed Act II LP.

Fans have been waiting nine long years for Jay Electronica to release an Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) follow-up, and it looks like they’ll finally get the album in early 2017. Jay Elec’s longtime friend Jason Goldwatch got on Instagram to announce what we believe to be the release date of Jay’s long-awaited sophomore album:

While there’s been no specific confirmation from Jay Elec’s camp, seems if he doesn’t release Act II on January 7, 2017, he’ll probably never drop the project.
