Morris Chestnut is having an amazing career moment right now, between his hit movie The Perfect Guyand his new show Rosewood, which debuts tonight on FOX. But he has no problem giving props to other Black actors, especially the beautiful sisters in primetime television roles.
At a screening of his new show in Harlem last week, Chestnut opened up about which Black female TV character is the sexiest.
He told TeamBeautiful:
“From Taraji to Kerry to Tracee to Viola, they all have certain things about them that are sexy to me,” he said. “I just love that they are really positive, they are all really smart and they’re all their own woman. So I think there’s a lot of things about all of them that are sexy.”
Morris definitely knows a thing or two about being sexy, and fans will get to see plenty of it in Rosewood. In the show, he plays Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, a private medical investigator who teams up with beautiful, no-nonsense detective Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz), to help solve some of Miami’s most vicious crimes. His character, whose faulty heart makes him one stroke or heart attack away from death, lives life to the fullest. He’s a perfect mix of cocky with charm, and fans get to see a much lighter side of Morris, who shows off his comedic acting chops.
Morris, who’s been acting for the better part of two decades, said he’s proud to be part of the changing face of Hollywood, which is seeing more Black actors in headlining roles.
“I’ve been in the game a long time,” he said. “It feels great for us to have the success that we’re having right now. People really came out and supported The Best Man: Holiday, people are supporting The Perfect Guy, so to be a part of that movement … and still be here after all this time, it’s a blessing from God. And I’m thankful to all of my fans.”

Known as a gangster rapper, but revered for his lyrical intelligence, Tupac was and will always be BAE. Check out this vintage interview about Tupac's interest in Hip Hop, police brutality & more:
We love when celebrities use their prestige to speak for the voiceless. John Legend did just that. “Nina Simone said that it’s an artist’s duty to reflect the times in which we live. We wrote this song for a film that was based on events that were 50 years ago, but we say that Selma is now, because the struggle for justice is right now,” Legend said at the Oscars. He's also written an op-ed to spark change in America

Dream Defenders is credited with putting the Trayvon Martin case on the national radar. 12. David Banner
His rap career catapulted him into the spotlight, and now that he's gotten our attention, he's using it for good. He's become a social activist, speaking against police brutality and systematic racism. Recently, he advised women to respect themselves and received an outraged response, but we are still here for his activism.

We think it's mostly about his intellectual lyrics, but we're sure Common has more than common sense.

17. Lance Gross
We think it was when he wrote that open letter to George Zimmerman in 2013 that we first noticed that the chocolate drop that is Lance had a brain. "I bet you never thought that by shooting a Black male, you'd end up inheriting all of his struggles," Gross passionately wrote.
