A disturbing youtube video has surface revealing that the Philadelphia Police department has learned nothing from NYC’s horrible stop & frisk situation. In the video Two Philly police officers roll up on a man and his friend who happened to pull his phone out and start recording. The 16 minute video gives on an inside look at how Police rather harass than protect and serve. The officers said hello to the young men then confronted the men pushing one of them up against the police cruiser. This is when the video gets a little funky.
“You don’t say high to strangers, one of the officers said, suggesting that the men shouldn’t have even spoken to the cops and instead should have just kept walking in the other direction. One of the men told the officers he was just headed to work and he lives in New Jersey. “Don’t come to f—ing Philadelphia. Stay in Jersey,” of the the officers said to the man.
The verbally abuse police kept the act up for the entire 16 minute video and even though thankfully no one was shot and killed, it makes you question the motives of Police. It also is disheartening to know a community can’t turn to the people who are paid to protect them because the protectors would rather harass then do their job.
