Riley Cooper Get Excused From Eagles Practice

The Philadelphia Eagles have excused Riley Cooper from practice and all football related activities this afternoon. The decision comes after Riley Cooper’s racial slur which was caught in camera after a Kenny Chesney concert. In a statement released by the team Riley said he thinks it important for him to reflect on his actions and the best thing for him to do is step away from the team for a period of time.

The Eagles also released a statement:

“As we have said, Riley Cooper will be seeking counseling and we have excused him from all team activities. This is all new territory and we are going to evaluate this timetable every step of the way. He will meet with professionals provided by the Eagles during this period of time to better help him understand how his words have hurt so many, including his teammates.”
