In a game full of superstars, it was Amare Stoudemire who took center stage in the final seconds and denied LeBron James’ driving layup to preserve the Knicks’ thrilling 91-86 victory over the Heat.

The Heat (43-17) were led by King James who had 27 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Best NBA trade?

There were some good as well as some head-scratching moves last week. Melo joining the Knicks and Deron Williams moving to Jersey received the most hoopla, but, while initially a stunner, one of the best deals Thursday in the long term was the Boston Celtics acquiring Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic from the Thunder in exchange for injury-hampered Kendrick Perkins, Nate Robinson and a 2012 first-round pick.

The Celtics lost toughness and “a family member,” as KG said, but they added the 6-foot-9 more durable Green and his 15 points and 5.5 boards per night. The 7-foot Krstic (7.6 points, 4.4 rebounds) can fill some of the intangibles Boston will miss with Perkins’ departure. Plus, the aging Celtics received a first-round pick next year in the deal.
