Gabby Sidibe’s Mom: Gabby DOES Want To Lose Weight!

Gabourey Sidibe’s mom Alice is talking to the press again.  She told the folks over at RadarOnline that all this hoopla about her daughter’s weight is crazy.  And she admits that Gabby does in fact want to lose weight.  But she explains that Gabby wouldn’t be where she is now if she wasn’t, in fact, this size:

The truth is Gabourey would like to lose some weight but the reality is that she would not have gotten the role of Precious if she had not been heavy,” Ridley said. “As her mom I would like to see my daughter healthy but if she didn’t lose weight that’s not a problem either – it runs in our family.

In fact, they “have relatives that are 80-years-old who are too heavy” so “it works in different ways for different folks.

I’m proud of my daughter no matter what and the truth is that there are all kinds of acting roles for all sorts of people.”
