Selena Gomez and Mom Face Lawsuit Over Alleged $1.2 Million
Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, face a federal lawsuit from investors who accuse them of misleading investors connected to their mental health startup, Wondermind. The lawsuit, filed in Delaware on August 13, claims the company’s founders made false promises about Wondermind’s leadership, infrastructure and financial future.
Two investor groups, Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, claim they invested nearly $1.2 million in the company after receiving assurances that Wondermind had the resources and leadership necessary to build a profitable mental health platform. The investors now seek repayment of their investment, damages and legal fees.
Gomez, Teefey and entrepreneur Daniella Pierson helped launch Wondermind with plans to create a platform focused on mental fitness. The company raised millions in funding and attracted attention partly because of Gomez’s celebrity profile and public advocacy for mental health.
According to the lawsuit, investors expected Gomez to play an active role in Wondermind’s marketing and development. The plaintiffs claim the company also promised a mobile app and other initiatives that never materialized. They argue that the founders failed to provide accurate updates as the startup faced growing financial and operational problems.
The lawsuit also alleges that investors remained unaware of the company’s internal struggles until a September 2025 investigation detailed Wondermind’s financial difficulties and management problems. The plaintiffs claim they attempted to recover their money after learning about the alleged issues but could not resolve the matter.
