Philadelphia’s Jeremiah Wells Set for Hometown Fight at UFC 330
Philadelphia native Jeremiah Wells will have a chance to become a hometown hero Saturday when he steps into the Octagon at UFC 330 in front of his home crowd.
Wells is scheduled to face Myktybek Orolbai in an early-preliminary-card welterweight bout at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Aug. 15. UFC officially lists the matchup as Wells vs. Orolbai.
The 39-year-old Wells enters the fight with a professional record of 13-4-1 and will look to build on his most recent victory, a decision win over Themba Gorimbo in November 2025.
Standing across from him will be Orolbai, a 28-year-old fighter from Kyrgyzstan who owns a 16-2-1 record. Orolbai has won three straight fights and is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Chris Curtis in March.
For Wells, however, the opportunity is about more than his record. Fighting in Philadelphia gives the veteran a chance to compete in front of the fans and community that helped shape him.
“My dream is to fight in Philly” Wells told CBS Philadelphia. “It was a calling, I felt like I was good at it”.
UFC 330 marks the promotion’s return to Philadelphia for a numbered event for the first time since UFC 133 in 2011. The card is headlined by a welterweight championship fight between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry.
Wells’ fight is scheduled for the early prelims, giving the Philadelphia native an opportunity to set the tone before the rest of the UFC 330 card unfolds.
