Victor Wembanyama Reportedly Spends $100,000 to Bring Spurs Teammates to France

San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama is taking team-building to another level this offseason, reportedly spending around $100,000 to help bring several of his teammates to France for workouts and time together.

According to reports, Wembanyama invited a large group of Spurs players to join him in France as the team prepares for the upcoming NBA season. Seven teammates were confirmed to have participated, including De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Harrison Barnes, Carter Bryant, Dylan Harper, Jordan McLaughlin and offseason addition Tobias Harris.

Spurs CEO R.C. Buford previously praised Wembanyama’s initiative, saying his decision to personally invite teammates demonstrated his growing leadership.

“They want to grow. Just seeing Victor calling his team and saying, ‘Hey, come over here and spend a week with me,’” Buford said.

Wembanyama also spent more time working with Hakeem Olajuwon, who helped him build out his post game last summer.

Wembanyama welcomed his teammates during one of their workouts, telling them, “I’m happy to be with you guys here.”

The unusual offseason gathering could prove valuable for San Antonio as the Spurs look to build on their recent success and make another run at the NBA championship.
