Philadelphia’s Grays Ferry neighborhood was rocked by a mass shooting early Monday morning, leaving three people dead and ten others injured.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on the 1500 block of South Etting Street, where a crowd of over 40 people had gathered.
The victims include three men, aged 19, 23, and 24, who were pronounced dead shortly after the shooting.
Among the injured were two juveniles, aged 15 and 17, who are expected to recover.
Police reported that over 100 shots were fired, with multiple firearms involved.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel described the act as “cowardly,” noting that homes and vehicles were struck by gunfire.
One individual with a weapon was taken into custody, though their involvement remains unclear.
This tragedy is part of a violent Fourth of July weekend in Philadelphia, which saw multiple shootings across the city.
