Steve Burns, ‘Blue’s Clues’ host, to launch adults-only podcast
Steve Burns, original host of ‘Blue’s Clues,’ to launch ‘Alive’ adults-only podcast

Steve Burns, original host of ‘Blue’s Clues,’ is set to launch an adults-only podcast.
The podcast comes years after an outpouring of support for Burns following a viral tweet in 2021. In a video, Burns addressed his departure from “Blue’s Clues” as the show celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Burns said in a social post that “lots of people are shouting and no one is listening” these days. The podcast “would be part-podcast, part-conversation, kinda like this,” he said of the show’s format. He added, “I wanna hear what you think. I wanna hear your ideas. This could be cool.”
Burns said this is geared to the audience who grew up watching him. wanting to continue to help solve the world’s many mysteries, on an advanced level.
“There are a thousand podcasts you can listen to, this is one that listens back,” Burns said in a press release. “I really want to continue what we started decades ago… For us, it was all about curious investigation. It was about looking a little closer. About asking the right questions. About following the clues that helped lead us toward greater understanding.”
He continued, “Alive is really just a continuation of that same conversation — only now we’re grown-ups, trying to make sense of a world that’s a whole lot more complicated. We’re still searching, still learning, still trying to connect. Still doing our best to lead deeply examined lives, together. And, you know, there’ll be less talking furniture, sure, but we’re still going to have a lot of fun along the way.”
Jessica Cordova Kramer, CEO of Lemonada, echoed Burns sentiments, attesting that this was something that millennials need.
“Adults need to be shepherded through life just as much as kids do, and Steve is the perfect person to do it,” Kramer said in the release. “He taps right into your inner child, helping listeners feel delight, comfort, and curiosity. From the moment we saw Steve’s videos on TikTok during the pandemic, we knew we had to work with him.”
