Teyana Taylor has officially announced her return to music with a brand-new project titled The Album, set to drop on June 19, 2025—aligning with Juneteenth, a date rich in cultural significance. This will be her first full-length release since 2018’s K.T.S.E., and marks a major comeback following her brief departure from the music industry.

Back in 2020, Taylor revealed her decision to retire from music due to frustrations with how her work was handled. However, earlier this year, she began hinting at a return, posting cryptic messages and studio updates that sparked speculation among fans. Now, with the official announcement, excitement is high for what promises to be a bold and personal project.

The Album will feature 24 tracks and an impressive lineup of guest artists including Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Quavo, Future, Kehlani, Big Sean, and Rick Ross. In a touching move, her daughter Junie will also make a cameo on the song “Come Back to Me,” sharing a feature with Rick Ross.

Taylor chose to release the album on Juneteenth to honor Black culture and highlight the importance of remembering history while also pushing forward. She described the project as both a celebration and a call to action for continued growth and empowerment within the community.

With this new album, Teyana Taylor is not only reclaiming her space in the music industry but also using her voice to inspire and uplift. Fans and critics alike are eager to see how this new era will shape her legacy.
