Sixers Considering Trading No. 3 Draft Pick to Aquire a Star Player
Rumour: Sixers Considering Trading No. 3 Draft Pick to Aquire a Star Player

As the Philadelphia 76ers find themselves back at the drawing board, they are game planning around the favor of receiving the number three pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The Sixers ended the season with the fifth-worst record in the league after an unexpectedly disastrous season, which could have gotten worse if the basketball Gods were not on their side the night of the NBA Draft lottery. If their pick landed outside the top six, they would have to give it to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Instead, the Sixers enjoyed good fortune and moved all the way up to the No. 3 pick.
Rumors are swirling around what Philadelphia might do with the third pick. With the most promising prospect — Cooper Flagg — being virtually acquired by the Dallas Mavericks with the No. 1 pick, the Sixers front office is in limbo on what they should do with their pick.
Ace Bailey and V.J. Edgecomb widely expected to be in the running for the selection as draft the next best available rookies, or the Sixers could opt put together a trade package that includes that No. 3 pick, in efforts to bring an established star to the team.
Jeremy Woo, NBA draft analyst and writer at ESPN, said teams around the league are expecting the Sixers to make some noise in the east.
“Some teams expect the Sixers to be active in trade conversations, with names such as Kevin Durant (Phoenix) and Lauri Markkanen (Utah) as potential targets in packages that could include Paul George and the No. 3 pick. ”
No Sixers officials have made any remarks to confirm these claims.
