Adam Manzano, a sports reporter, died on Wednesday while on assignment for Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans.

Manzano was a sports reporter for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports. A cause of death wasn’t immediately available. The statement said the network was “cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate this tragic event.” Adam was down in New Orleans gathering footage for the Super Bowl before his passing.

In his final X post, Manzano captioned a picture of Mahomes with a large collection of reporters gathered around his table at Super Bowl opening night saying “Mahomes vs el Mundo,” which translates to “Mahomes vs. the world.” The sports reporter was 27 years old. He had worked at KGKC since April of 2021. He was originally from Mexico City but moved to Kansas City for college. He also posted a picture on Sunday of a Super Bowl 2025 sign and expressed gratitude for being able to cover the event for a third time with the Chiefs fighting for a win yet again.

Months after Super Bowl 2024, Manzano wife, Ashleigh, was killed in a car crash after a driver crossed the center line and struck her car.
