100K Eggs Worth $40 Thousand Robbed From PA Business

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an egg robbery who poached 100,000 organic eggs that are worth an estimate of $40,000.
The eggs were stolen from a back of a trailer over the weekend. The theft took place in Greencastle, PA, which is 65 miles southwest of state capital Harrisburg. The eggs were poached from the rear of a distribution trailer on Saturday around 8:40 p.m. while it was parked outside of Pete & Gerrys Organics.
Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburgh responded to the location and discovered that around 100,000 eggs have been stolen. Authorities did not offer any insight into how such a large theft could have occurred unnoticed. There are currently no potential leads in this case.
The egg brand Pete & Gerrys Organics has been around as a brand since the early 1980s, but transitioned to organic farming in 1997. The company works with over 200 independent, family owned and operated farms in their network. These locations are mainly located across New England, the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.
Pete & Gerrys Organic stated that their farms are typically ran by a single family and are small enough for each farmer partner to manage. The farmers deliver hands-on care to our hens, while still leading rich and fulfilling lives.
The investigation is currently ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg.
