Chlöe Bailey Avoids Burna Boy Questions On 'The Breakfast Club'

Chlöe Bailey was mum when asked about her rumored romance with Nigerian singer Burna Boy during a recent interview.

While chopping it up with The Breakfast Club on Jan. 7, Bailey went into defense mode when host Loren Lorosa asked if she would be bringing Burna Boy as her date to the NAACP Image Awards to celebrate her recent nomination for Outstanding Music Video thanks to her smash hit “Boy Bye.”

Politely sidestepping the question, the singer and actress told Lorosa she would attend the ceremony with her “mom” and “manager.” However, Lorosa wasn’t ready to let it go and pressed further, asking if fans could expect to see more of Bailey and Burna Boy together. To this, Bailey coyly replied, “You’ll have to ask him.”

In December 2024, Bailey caused a social media frenzy when she unexpectedly visited Nigeria and was spotted out and about in Lagos with the Afrobeats sensation. One particular photo of the two captured them holding hands as they mingled in the lively streets of Lagos, taking in the vibrant energy of “Detty December”—a festive period in Nigeria that typically runs from mid-December through the New Year. This time of year is known for its high-energy celebrations, social gatherings, parties, and festivities, all characterized by excitement, optimism, and a joyous spirit.

Reflecting on her trip to the motherland, Bailey told The Breakfast Club that she had a “beautiful” time during her visit. “I had some good food. I had pepper soup. I had lots of spicy chicken. It was really good; I had a great time,” the Hollywood celeb gushed.

Before switching topics, Lorosa tried to squeeze in one last question regarding the 26-year-old star’s relationship status with the 33-year-old Nigerian musician but ultimately failed.

“We want to know, is [Burna Boy] your boo? Is this a thing [are] y’all together? Do y’all go together real bad? Are y’all just having fun? What is it?” Lorosa asked, to which Bailey replied, “Well, I’m a grown woman…[and] he’s a grown man, just like I’m a grown woman. I had a great time in Nigeria.”

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
