Founded on the campus of Howard University on November 17, 1911, the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. celebrates 113 years of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift.
ASHMAC got the chance to speak with Bro. Terrel Parris and Bro. Evan Battallio from the Mu Omega Chapter – which serves the Philadelphia area.
While speaking on the history of the Mu Omega, Terrel Parris, who served as a previous Basileus (president) of the Mu Omega as well as a past 2nd District Officer, highlights the meaning of Brotherhood, service, and upholding what Omega Psi Phi was founded upon.
Evan Battallio, who has been named as the 2024 Omega Man of the Year recipient, shares his journey through Omega and the lasting legacy of the chapter and organization.
Through mentorship, Big Brother sponsorship, voter registration drives, mentors for Dr. Ruth Hayre’s “Tell Them We Are Rising” program, Annual Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, Sickle Cell Awareness Walk, active participation in local neighborhood association (PANA) and community workshops and more, the Mu Omega chapter invites members of the community, and the NPHC, to serve.
