Shyne Reveals Him And Mase Dated Brandy At The Same Time

Former Bad Boy rapper Shyne shared that he dated singer Brandy while she was also dating Mase.

In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Shyne elaborated on how the love triangle between the three caused tension within the label. The tension rose so high that he prompted a rare intervention from Diddy. Diddy called the meeting to address the issue and how he disapproved of two label mates pursuing the same woman.

“I started dating the girl and that caused like a big thing. We had to have like a family meeting. It was like ‘Yo, what are you doing? You know, you’re like Kobe coming to the Lakers, and you know, you want to go after Shaq’s joint.’ You can’t do that. And thats what I was on for 98. I wasn’t focused,” Shyne recalled of his pep talk from Diddy.

Shyne also recalled of a conversation between himself and Brandy, where she called him out. “She’s selling millions of records. She had like the biggest record that year. We had an argument, and she said ‘Yo, you’re nobody…you’re nobody. You ain’t sell one record. You think you styling, and you think you’re that. You’re nothing. You haven’t sold a record.’ And that hit me like the hand of God just slapped me back into reality because she was telling the truth. I wasn’t there to date R&B divas and pop divas and look fly. I was there to make hit records, and I wasn’t doing that.”

The relationship between Mase and Brandy only allegedly lasted for nine months. Neither of them commented on the situation.
