Pilot Dies Mid Flight — Emergency Landing In New York

A Turkish Airline headed from Seattle to Istanbul had to make an emergency landing in New York after the pilot died on board.

Pilot Lenin Pehlivan, 59, lost consciousness at some point after the flight took off. Once the crew of the plane saw what happened to the pilot, they decided to make an emergency landing and tried to revive the pilot. Unfortunately, the pilot passed before the plane landed.

It is unknown on what made the pilot lose consciousness. The airline made a statement saying: “As Turkish Airlines, we deeply feel the loss of our captain and extend our sincerest condolences to his bereaved family, colleagues, and all his loved ones.”

Arrangements were being made for passengers to reach their destination from New York.
