REPORT: Former NBA Player Mitchell Wiggins, has Passed Away at age 64

We lost another member of our Philadelphia Phamily today (Sep. 13). Former NBA Player Mitchell Wiggins, has reportedly passed away at age 64.
Mitchell Wiggins, father of NBA star Andrew Wiggins, was born in 1959, Kinston, NC. Mitchell was selected by the Indiana Pacers as the 23rd overall pick of the 1983 NBA draft and traded to the Chicago Bulls for Sidney Lowe and a 2nd round pick. Wiggins played in all 82 regular season games while averaging twelve points, four rebounds and two assists per game in his rookie year,

Wiggins spent his rookie year with the Chicago Bulls before headed to the Houston where he was with the Rockets for two different stints (1984–1987, 1989-1990). Wiggins is mostly remembered for his timely tip-in basket which ultimately sealed the victory for the Houston Rockets against the Boston Celtics in game three of the 1986 NBA Finals.
Mitchell spent his last season in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1981-1982 before heading overseas to pursue a professional european career.
