Black women are boldly stepping into the White House !

We are witnessing groundbreaking American Her-story where women are running for the presidential race, challenging norms and shattering barriers. Their journeys are not just political campaigns but powerful statements of resilience. Here are a list of the Top 5 black women whom stepped foot in the white house.

At number one we have, Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman to run for a major party’s presidential nomination in 1972, paved the way with her slogan, “Unbought and Unbossed.” Chisholm’s candidacy was a bold declaration of independence and inspired generations of women and minorities to aspire to the highest office.

Such as Cynthia McKinney member of the U.S. House of Representatives between 1993–2003, 2005–2007. She was a green party nominee for the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

Next, we have Condolezza Rice , in 2001 she was appointed National Security Advisor by President George W. Bush, and succeeded Colin Powell as Secretary of State in 2005.

Than theres Ketanji Brown Jackson , the first black woman to serve as a justice of the United States Supreme Court.

More recently, Kamala Harris made history as the first Black woman and first person of South Asian descent to be nominated for vice president by a major party. Her 2020 presidential campaign emphasized justice, equality, and a new era of American politics. While she ultimately became the Vice President, her campaign highlighted the evolving landscape of political representation.

These women, along with other trailblazers like Carol Moseley Braun and Karine Jean-Pierre have transformed the political landscape. Their white house positions represent more than individual ambition yet it encourages future generations of young black women to dream big !
