Official Avatar Movie
Avatar was the number-one movie at the box office for a third straight weekend, earning 68-point-three-million dollars. That gives the sci-fi epic 352-point-one million in only 17 days. Overseas, the James Cameron-directed movie has banked 670 million, giving it a worldwide gross of one-point-zero-two billion. Avatar is only the fifth movie to make a billion dollars globally, with Cameron’s Titanic leading the way with one-point-eight billion. (The others are The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, 1.13 billion, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, 1.06 billion, and The Dark Knight, 1 billion.)
