Supermodel-worthy female sports reporter wears skintight jeans and alluring makeup while reporting on football team. Team members wolf whistle at her and yell inappropriate comments while she’s trying to do her job. Talk radio sports jockeys make cracks about “what did she expect?” Rinse, repeat.
This time the story focuses on pulchritudinous reporter Ines Sainz, who recently walked the sidelines to cover the New York Jets, subjects of this year’s HBO series “Hard Knocks.”
The league is now looking into what happened on Saturday when the former Miss Spain visited the Jets’ Florham Park facility to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez, during which she was reportedly berated with whistling, rude remarks and “extended stares.
In keeping with the juvenile, fast-and-loose behavior uncovered in “Hard Knocks,” the paper also reported that defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman intentionally overthrew players in an interception drill so the ball would land near Sainz’s feet.
Owner Woody Johnson gave Sainz a call on Sunday to apologize and assured her that, “we will continue to work with the league to gather the facts and take appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media.”
Are you surprised by the Jets’ player’s alleged actions?
