After nearly 6 years in the works, the All Eyez on Me movie has finally been given a release date. The biopic of the late Tupac Shakur will be hitting theaters June 16th, the same date as his birthday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“The pic chronicles his rise to superstardom as a hip-hop artist, actor, poet and activist, as well as his imprisonment and controversial time at Death Row Records. Shakur has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, with his fourth studio album, 1996’s All Eyez on Me, selling more than 10 million copies.”
The rapper, who was killed in Las Vegas at the age of 25, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7.
21 years since his death, Pac will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April.

The movie has had an array of people since it started out, having Antoine Fuqua to direct, then eventually left before John Singleton signing on. He also later left, and Benny Boom eventually came aboard.
After some legal issues, the film finally looks like it will see the light of day, with a new deal formulating with Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment.
Shakur would have turned 46 on his upcoming birthday. We just hope this movie does Pac’s legacy proper, and saddens us his mother wasn’t around to see the final product.
