CeeLo Green has been lying low over the last couple of years, but clearly, all it takes is one viral video to jolt you back to popularity.

Social media erupted over the weekend when video footage of the singer collapsing onto the floor after a cell phone appeared to explode in his hand went viral.

CeeLo is finally speaking out after so many people starting sending up prayers for him, thinking he was really injured and that the video was real. He took to Facebook on Sunday to explain that the footage was fake and shot for a new project he’s doing called Gnarly Davidson, saying, “I just want to let everybody know that I am alive and I’m well and I’m OK. Truthfully, I’m really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today.”

Green continued on, “It’s supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity. Forgive me, y’all…I just want to let you know that I’m OK. OK? And I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern.”

Fortunately, the singer is doing well and even revealed that despite the uproar the video caused, he’s “still gonna release the music though.” Will you be listening?
