Annual Charity Day Hosted By Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC and GFI - Cantor Fitzgerald Office - Arrivals

Mets legend Darryl Strawberry made a public appeal to former L.A. Laker Lamar Odom during a taping of Dr. Phil’s The Doctors.

Strawberry, also the owner of two rehab centers, spoke on the dangers of celebrities suffering in silence and also made it clear he’s not calling out Odom, he’s calling out the disease of addiction, so that the former NBA player doesn’t eventually die the way so many others have.

“His family reached out to me because I am in recovery. I have two treatment centers,” Strawberry said on the show, which airs Oct. 26. The slugger has two Darryl Strawberry Recovery Centers in Florida.

“You have to understand, with celebrities, they are always silent. And that’s why most of them end up dying — because of the shame and the guilt,” Strawberry said.

“Look at Prince — Prince would be alive today . . . Whitney Houston would be alive today if someone had talked — you don’t have to die like this.”

Lamar’s drug and alcohol addiction reached its peak when he nearly overdosed at a Nevada brothel last year, at which point his then soon-to-be ex-wife Khloe Kardashian put their divorce on hold and stuck by his side. Lamar has since returned to partying and Khloe has moved on.

As always, we are keeping Lamar in our prayers.
