It’s been twelve years, the fan funded project has been released and De La Soul is celebrating.

The Native Tongues members released their ninth studio album “And The Anonymous Nobody” last Friday and now they have unveiled a short film documenting the album’s creation.

The 33-minute short film entitled We’re Still Here (now)… a documentary about nobody documents the birth of the album from the announcement of the Kickstarter campaign to raise funding, to the fine tuning of the project before its release.

The short film opens with the group explaining that one of the motivations for the album’s creation was to avoid sampling, since the group ran into sample clearance issues in the past.

The album features artists such as, Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, and Usher. You can purchase it through iTunes
