Update: Official statement has been released

We were saddened that several dozen people, including Live Nation employees, sustained injuries resulting from a railing section collapse during the Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa concert at Camden’s BB&T Pavilion on Friday night. Live Nation is closely following the recovery of the injured fans and employees as well as actively working with authorities and structural engineers to determine the cause of the collapse. We have secured the impacted railing section, and tonight’s show with I Love the 90’s as well as tomorrow’s show with Fifth Harmony will go ahead as scheduled.

Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa were totally surprised by an equipment malfunction at their concert last night.

The pair were performing in Camden, New Jersey’s BB&T Pavilion, where attendees fell into a concrete pathway after the railing broke loose.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a railing that separated the lawn section from the seating area of the amphitheater collapsed shortly after 10 p.m. EST from the pressure of people surging forward to see the two rappers on the concert’s secondary stage.

A video from The Shade Room shows the actual moment the railing fell, and then the rappers being escorted off the stage soon after.

Philadelphia’s NBC10 reported that of the 42 people injured, at least 15 were taken to area hospitals with injuries ranging from broken bones to bumps and bruises. One person who was not identified was critically injured and taken to a nearby trauma center.

The concert did not proceed after the incident.

There’s no word on who’s responsible for the railing collapse, and both rappers have yet to comment on the incident. Their “MERRY JANE Presents Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa: The High Road Tour” ends early September.
