2016 BET Awards - Arrivals

Floyd Mayweather has the nickname “Money” for a reason. The prized boxer is looking for ways to avoid paying for the rising prices in Las Vegas strip clubs after checking his expenses over the past year. Hey, it is a new fiscal quarter, after all.

Last month, Money’s moneyman requested a $20,000 tax write off for the stacks of bills he threw around a Vegas strip club last year. DailyMail reports that Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club received a 1099 from Mayweather Promotions LLC.

Club owner Jason Mohney told DailyMail he was stunned. “I feel insulted, we throw him all this free stuff and he slaps me with a $20,000 tax bill, what the hell is that,” he said, adding that the cash was “distributed” directly to the dancers, many of whom grabbed the bills off the ground and took them home in garbage bags, and therefore untraceable at this point.

Now, it seems, Mayweather is looking for avoid the middle man altogether. He announced on Instagram that he is preparing to go into business for himself. “I am just months away from opening my very own strip club in Las Vegas,” he wrote.

Maybe the $20,000 tax request is just a small way to try and get ahead of his future competition. With Mayweather’s boxing career all but over, it will be interesting to see how much of his intensity and perfectionism he pours into his future as a strip club owner.
