The Queen Bee receives the final “Hip Hop Honors” honor for this year’s event.

Lil Kim joins pioneering female emcees Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa with DJ Spinderella, and Missy Elliott as honorees at VH1’s “Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens” ceremony, which will air live from New York July 11th at 8pm.

“Hip Hop Honors” is making its return this year after a lengthy hiatus. Originally launched in 2004, “Honors” has paid tribute to several acts in the past, including Salt-N-Pepa, Missy Elliott, and Tupac Shakur. In 2006, Lil Kim appeared on the “Hip Hop Honors” stage to pay tribute to MC Lyte, who was celebrated that year.

Kim’s placement on this year’s lineup comes on the heels of a celebrated solo career with three consecutive platinum albums, Hard Core, The Notorious K.I.M. and La Bella Mafia. Kim is gearing up to hit the road with Puff Daddy & The Family on their “Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour” kicking off in August.
