The Long Live The Pimp album is a tribute to the fallen U.G.K. member, but not all of his family is down with the project.

The album was released today (Dec 4th). Pimp C’s widow, Chinara Butler, curated the music for the set.

Unfortunately Pimp C’s son voiced his disapproval of the late rappers first album in four years. Chad Butler Jr. released a statement about Long Live the Pimp to express his dissatisfaction with the release of his father’s music.

Chinara Butler explained in a statement, “This album is the culmination of years of work from not just me, but also the amazing artists and producers who contributed to make it happen. It combines several of the ideas and projects my husband began before his untimely passing. We hope the Trill fans enjoy it.”

Pimp C died in 2008 from a combination of factors including a codeine overdose and complications from a pre-existing sleep condition.
